VP of Marketing

The Vice President of Marketing will play a vital role at Shift Ventures as a key member of the executive team and contribute broadly to the success of the business. The VP of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a global product and brand marketing strategy that builds upon the company’s portfolio of existing brands and products, and turns the company’s brands from good to market-leading through differentiated positioning and marketing campaigns that turn the company’s brands into the most sought-after brands in the world.

The VP of Marketing will play an integral role on the senior management team to drive brand and product awareness, help plan and execute launches for new products, drive meaningful revenue growth, and contribute to fulfilling the company’s vision of obsoleting the combustible cigarette.

What You’ll Do

  • Intimately understand the company’s customers, and create customer profiles/archetypes that will be utilized to best determine brand messaging and positioning
  • Plan and oversee the execution of marketing campaigns designed to increase brand awareness (deliver cost-effective, audience-relevant brand impressions), articulate brand values/value proposition (concise brand messaging), and increase revenue (turn impressions into sales)
  • Create, develop and execute a comprehensive and innovative marketing strategy
  • Partner closely with sales, product, and operations to execute marketing campaigns with efficiency and precision
  • Lead and direct branding efforts for the company at large, i.e. corporate identity
  • Lead global product launch campaigns (including management of media buys/budgeting) that drive customer engagement, spark customer interest and demand, and ultimately convert viewers into paying customers
  • Build and oversee the company’s marketing team, which is responsible for marketing across all channels, including digital/web, social media, and event/experiential marketing

Who You Are 

An extremely detail-oriented and business-minded brand marketer with at least 7-10 years of experience managing a category-leading brand or brand portfolio at a leading consumer products company, with specific experience planning and executing an end-to-end product launch (and ensuing marketing throughout the product lifecycle).

General Counsel

The Drip Club is looking for an experienced, hands-on attorney who will work directly with our founders and executive team to manage the company’s legal affairs, regulatory compliance matters, and day-to-day operations. This role will carry direct P&L responsibility, and require the individual to have a strong working knowledge of the law, regulatory compliance matters in the US and abroad, corporate formalities, agreements and contracts, litigation, risk management, and general business management.

What You’ll Do

  • Build strong internal legal practice, leveraging outside counsel on an as-needed basis for specialty practice areas
  • Product liability – develop proactive risk mitigation strategy through the implementation of comprehensive procedures that integrate liability mitigation considerations into product R&D, manufacturing, and distribution processes
  • Tax – keep up with local, state, federal, and international excise tax policy on electronic cigarettes, and work in conjunction with the company’s tax advisors, accountants, and finance personnel to ensure the company’s continued compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
  • Regulatory strategy and compliance – keep up with local, state, federal, and international regulations pertaining to regulations of electronic cigarette products.

You’ll work closely with the executive team to build out a strong internal legal practice, focusing on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, business operations, and all other legal needs of the company. You’ll learn the nuanced ins and outs of the business, including levers for growth and areas of risk and opportunity, to create and maintain an on-going threat assessment analysis and deal with legal issues on an on-going basis as they arise. You’ll be directly responsible for managing the company’s outside various outside counsel, and ensure their fair and accurate billing.

As an integral part of the management team, you will be the executive responsible for architecting elegant and at times creative solutions to both internal and external legal and operational issues, and play an active role in both “offense” and “defense” – in proactively mitigating managing risk to facilitate sound company growth while dealing with existing issues in a responsive manner that balances pragmatism with legal best practices. Additionally, you will be involved in the planning and risk evaluation/compliance analysis processes as the company evaluates new business growth opportunities.
A key area of focus will be creating and managing the company’s US and EU regulatory compliance program, which will ensure that the company’s products are compliant with the relevant regulations in all territories to which products are sold. The GC will additionally be responsible for taking a proactive role in keeping up with developing case law across state, federal, and international courts.

Given the nuances that exist at the intersection of business operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, and legal affairs in a high growth consumer products company, you must be able to craft elegant solutions to complex business issues, showing a penchant for being resourceful, a quick problem solver, and a decisive leader.

Who You Are
An extremely detail-oriented and business-minded lawyer with at least 5 years of experience practicing law, ideally with a focus on corporate/M&A law, litigation, and/or regulatory compliance matters.

Brand Specialist

The Drip Club is looking for a passionate, self-driven Brand Specialist to be a part of our Sales team to build and maintain relationships for Drip Club Distribution’s (DCD) valued dealers. Those in this role will also execute strategies designed to increase customer retention while maintaining the DCD brand as one of the most trusted names in the e-liquid industry. The Brand Specialist perpetuates The Drip Club’s reputation as the preeminent distributor of the best e-liquids in the industry and will develop broad knowledge of the DCD’s products, procedures, and customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage existing wholesale customer relationships across multiple states in the U.S.
  • Proactively provide regulatory insights, market trends, prepare invoices, and up-sell products.
  • Identify areas of sales opportunities by organizing and analyzing detailed customer reports.

Shift Ventures is looking for a reliable, self-driven Personal Assistant to provide direct administrative and personal support to the company’s CEO. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of a fast-paced and rapidly growing startup.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle and respond to incoming email and mail, corresponding on behalf of the CEO
  • Arrange travel including air, hotel, and activities
  • Carry out background research on various topics and present findings
  • Draft reports, memos, and presentations

  • Coordinate logistics of conference calls and meetings, sometimes across time zones

Graphic Designer

Shift Ventures is looking for a passionate, self-driven Graphic Designer to play an integral role on our Marketing team. This is a full-time position. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Create graphic assets for email marketing, B2C and B2B website, and promotional materials including banners, social media, apparel, and flyers.
  • Maintain and optimize all website graphic assets on a daily basis.
  • Manage the digital photography and photo editing of new and existing brands for online promotions.
  • Plan and manage all e-commerce marketing campaigns
  • Implement graphics on our websites and email newsletters
